28.12.2019 - Corndon Hill 513m (Marilyn).
Corndon Hill is a lovely hike on the welsh side of the Shropshire foothills starting in the village of Priest Weston not far from Montgomery. We started this hike by parking in the village pub car park. It is called the The Miners Arms and a nice place to have a drink after the hike.
The hike is easy enough, you head SE out of the village and you soon start to climb on a marked trail up to rough road/track where you hang a left. Not long after there is a gate opening on your right out onto the steep climb up to the trig pointed summit with great views. Thereafter you head south on an obvious track and round to the west on a big loop to Cordon Cottage. Here you by pass the cottage and head north on obvious trails until you rejoin the original rough road/track. You then simply head down hill to the finish to a well deserved pint with a friendly land lord. All simple enough.
