Summary
This was a two day hike but I recorded three routes on my Garmin.
Day 1. Monta Blanca Car Park to Alta Vista refuge.
A steady uphill hike to the Alavista refuge. Follow the easily marked trail/path.
Route Statistics: About a four hour hike over 9.45km with 830m of height gain.
Day 2. AM. Altavista to the summit of Mt Teide.
A steep hike via the cable car station at a nice steady pace following the well marked and maintained trail. If you see the trail zig zagging a bit around the cable car station then that is because I had a bit of a wander around it. A great early morning hike with superb views from the summit.
Route Statistics: A 2.5km , 500m height gain section done in about an hour and a half.
Day 2. PM. Mt Teide to Pico Viejo to the Parador Hotel.
A great hike from the summit of Mt Teide down to the cable car station to Pico Viejo and onwards to the Parador Hotel. When you get to the rocks of the Roques de Garcia then don't pay too much attention to my trail as we went down the left side of the rocks (looking south towards the Parador) and had to walk off trail as the left side path was closed. Of all things they were laying the path with concrete...so by the time you read this you will have a nice new rock hard concrete path to walk on!
Route Statistics: A 11km, 1,560m height gain 6hr superb day.
