3.5.2021 - Day 6.
Kit Hill 334m, Tavistock (Marilyn)
Summary
This was a 4km windy bimble up a Marilyn near Tavistock before the wind and rain starts in earnest. Another trig pointed Marilyn but nothing to write home about. A pretty part of the world no less. There is an ample car park at the start point and at several other venues on the hill including the summit area.
I walked in an anti clockwise direction heading SW towards a disused mine before heading NW and up a track to the summit area where the trig point is on a stone wall. I then walked NW from the top to take in a loop back onto the road which I followed down to the start point. Follow my gpx trail and you won’t go wrong.
Note: Kit Hill is located in the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). With its 400 acres (152 hectares) for public enjoyment, Kit Hill Country Park is an ideal place for a wide range of activities including bird watching, kite flying and picnics.
Parking: At the start point, several other areas including the summit.
Route: Good trails and tracks. Pleasant walking.
Route Statistics: 3.47km with 81m of ascent done in 42mins.
